1. Open Command Prompt: If you can get to the desktop at all, even with a limited account, try going to Start -> Run and typing “cmd” then pressing Enter.

2. Use the ‘net user’ command: At the command prompt, type net user administrator /active:yes and press Enter. This command attempts to activate the built-in Administrator account. If you know the password of a different administrator account, you can try runas /user:administrator cmd to open a command prompt as the administrator.

3. Create a new admin account: If activating the default administrator account doesn’t work, you could try creating a new one. Type net user NewAdminName NewAdminPassword /add (replacing NewAdminName and NewAdminPassword with your desired credentials) and press Enter. Then, type net localgroup administrators NewAdminName /add and press Enter to add the new user to the administrators group.

Method 3: Offline Password Reset (More Advanced)

There are tools available (often bootable CDs or USB drives) that can reset Windows passwords offline. These tools work by directly manipulating the SAM (Security Accounts Manager) database where Windows stores user account information. This is a more technical approach and should be used with extreme caution.
